Although the focus of this blog is on business attire, I can’t help but post about weddings given mine is a mere three months away! I recently had my bridal shower and went into a tizzy (which is mildly put) trying to find the perfect dress for the occasion. While the bride-to-be certainly does not need to wear white, I embraced the opportunity to wear white figuring, and hoping, I would be the only one in that color.
After MUCH searching, I eventually narrowed my options to three dresses:
Dress 1: ASOS dress (size US 1).
Dress 2: Shoshanna dress (size 0). Although not petite, this dress was workable because of its elastic waist and adjustable shoulder straps.
Dress 3: Banana republic (unavailable online) (similar here). Dress 3 was tough to track down. After eyeing it for some time, only regular sizes were available online when I was finally willing to pull the trigger. Fortunately, a wonderful sales associate at BR was able to track a OOP down and mail it to me from across the country. It hits me just at the knees and has a comfortable, stretchy fit. Although I did not end up wearing this dress to my shower, after the intense nationwide search, I figured it’s worth keeping. If you can get your hands on it, it doubles as a nice summer work dress.
So which dress did I wear to the shower? Dress 1.
As for Dress 2 – I did wear it for another prior engagement (stay tuned!).
