I am a big fan of ASOS. The free shipping and returns and the generous selection of petite-friendly attire make it an almost too easy online shopping option. Being petite, I find it often easier to shop online than in stores due to the small (if existent) petite sections and even smaller selections.
I recently purchased the following dresses from ASOS:
Dress 1: ASOS midi dress. This dress has adjustable straps and an elastic waistband to help with a more customized fit. The “midi” length hits me about four inches below the knee, which is typically longer than I would wear for work. However, with the proper accessories, and high heels to offset the longer length, it’s a perfect dress for summer Friday attire. (See it styled for work here.) I kept the blue and am contemplating ordering the black given its potential for day, work or evening styling. As I mentioned in my previous post, the dress is on sale, so grab it while it’s still in stock.
The dress is available in petite and regular sizes. (A note on sizing: The bow of the dress is sewn to the front. I thought I’d be able to “cinch” the waist, but that is not the case. Despite this limitation, the dress fits me well. If you’re extremely petite, though, you might need to pass.)
Dress 2: ASOS maxi dress. Even though I am only 5’2″, I find that some other maxi dress options (e.g., many at the Gap) are surprisingly too short, even with flats. This maxi dress is a comfortable jersey material, comes in a bright coral color and is the perfect length with flats. The dress is not clingy, which is nice in hot, humid weather, and may be belted to add some shape. This dress is an ASOS PETITE exclusive. (For a similar regular size version see here.) Given the length is right, this dress is a keeper.
